Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new method of calculating burst pressure to minimize the effect of uncertainty in depth and length. This method seems to work very well and results in less error in the calculated failure pressure than the traditional approach. We hope to extend this method to include the calculation of failure pressure of clusters as well as individual anomalies.

The objective of this paper is to explore and illustrate an alternative method to improve the failure pressure calculation of metal-loss anomalies using MFL technology. We begin by examining the potential for improvement from a theoretical perspective. We next proposea procedure which, we believe, should take advantage of the theoretical potential. Finally we test our procedure against the traditional method and demonstrate the advantages of this new method.
