| Abstract: |
This paper provides an overview of network analysis of distribution systems, concentrating on the principles
involved rather than on technical aspects or on the mechanics of constructing a model.
The steps that are explained are relevant for similar computer packages other than WATNET, with only minor differences in detail.
The background to both the nature of the work and the function of the model is set by describing the phenomenon of headloss in pipes due to friction.
The usefulness of the completed model is illustrated by listing and briefly describing some of the applications to
which the model may be put. |
