| Abstract: |
Many formulas exist for predicting the ultimate strength of pressurized cylinders in the form of pressure vessels or restrained pipelines. A number of these were compared to the results of previously-reported burst tests from a number of sources. The accuracy of the results is discussed, along with the mechanisms upon which these formulas are based. The variability of the results is discussed. |
