Abstract: The most important design parameter in a high-pressure gas transmission system is the (maximum) internal pressure. This parameter largely dtermines the technical integrity of the transmission system, and is also a major factor affecting its capability. Maintaining the internal pressure at the maximum design pressure (and limiting the pressure to the maximum design pressure) is the primary task of the pressure-management system, which also incorporates pressure-regulation and pressure-warning functions, as well as the pressure-safety function.
